| The Clerks of Court Insurance Trust was founded on July 1, 1998 to administrator the health, life and dental group benefits program. The program has seen many changes in the past, but its basic goal has always been to assure that the members of the Association have health, accidental death, dental and life insurance, which meet the needs of its members. Currently, the partially self-funded insured program services about 1,100 members and 800 dependents. The group health insurance plan is managed by Hunt Insurance Group, LLC/HRH.
Eligibility - Full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week are eligible to enroll. Employees may also enroll their eligible dependents. Eligible dependents include:
- Legal Spouse
- Unmarried dependent children to age 21 or to age 25 if a full-time student
Waiting Period - You are eligible for benefits following 28 days of continuous full-time service. If application is made later than 30 days after the date on which the employee is first eligible for coverage, the employee is considered a "late enrollee".
Effective Date - Benefits become effective on the first day of the month following the waiting period.
Annual Enrollment During June 2008, you may add medical, dental, and/or additional voluntary life insurance on yourself and/or your dependents even if you have not had this coverage in the past. After June 30, 2008, LCCIT will no longer offer "open" enrollment. That means during June 2009, you may only change between medical plan options if you already
participate in the medical plan AND your parish offers both options. If you or your dependents are not already on the medical plan, you will not be able to join at that time; dental benefits will become limited if you do not already participate; and you will only be able to increase your additional voluntary life insurance by proving you are in good health.
Qualifying Life Events If you choose not to enroll now, you must wait until you have a change in status/life event. If this happens, you have 30 days from the eligible life event to notify Member Services at (800) 763-4868.
You can change your benefit choices under the following circumstances:
- You get married, legally separated or divorced.
- You add a dependent child through birth, adoption or placement for adoption.
- Your spouse or dependent child dies.
- Your spouse has a change in employment or status that affects benefits coverage.
- You experience an involuntary loss of other group benefit coverage.
For assistance or guidance regarding eligibility or claim issues, please contact LCCIT Member Services at (800) 763-4868.
