RETIREMENT CALCULATION WORKSHEET (Estimation Only) |
In order to determine the maximum benefit you can receive at retirement, you must first determine your monthly average final compensation. This is your monthly salary during the highest compensated thirty-six (36) consecutive months of service.
Please find the highest consecutive thirty-six (36) months salary (if you have a one month break of a lesser salary, this may be skipped and continue to calculate.)
| Note: There are limitations on the salary which can be used, particularly if you receive large pay increases in the thirty-six (36) month period. Specifically the salary utilized for the thirteenth (13th) through twenty-fourth (24th) cannot exceed 110% of the salary for the first twelve (12) months and the salary for the last twelve months (12) cannot exceed 121% of the salary used for the first twelve (12) months.
| Example: If you began service on January 1, 1980, and wish to estimate your maximum retirement benefits as of December 31, 2001, and your Final Monthly Average Compensation is $2000, your maximum benefit would be calculated as follows:
(B) Service credit prior to July 1, 1999: 19.5 years x 3% x $ 2000 = $1,170.00 (C) Service credit on or after July 1, 1999: 2.5 years x 3 .% x $ 2000 = $166.65 Maximum Total Monthly Benefit = $1,336.65 |
